01 · About
I'm Alan, and I'm building my way towards becoming a DevOps engineer. My path has been anything but linear: industrial maintenance, then networks at Orange, software development, system administration, and now a master's degree in Telecommunications, Networks and Computer Science, as a work-study student at the Savoie Departmental Council.
What I enjoy is infrastructure end to end: from switches and servers all the way to VMs and containers. I learn mostly by building things, and my homelab is my playground: Proxmox, a Kubernetes cluster, Terraform, monitoring. Every project is a chance to understand how things really work.
Away from the screen (well, almost), I'm into home automation and a devoted ice hockey fan.

What I build
A selection of personal and university projects, from infrastructure to software development.
Opi!
A Finnish training site: it introduces new content, tests with typed exercises scheduled by spaced repetition, and corrects by showing the expected form and the rule. It runs on a Kubernetes cluster built in my homelab, updated automatically on every merge.
Homelab
Constantly evolvingMy personal infrastructure: virtualisation, network storage, a private network and a Kubernetes cluster built from scratch, hosting my other projects.
Verkko
v2Network scanner for a homelab: it continuously discovers the devices on each network, compares them with my inventory, editable from the interface, and flags anomalies. It runs on the NAS, behind a password.
Containerised e-commerce application
University projectA microservices e-commerce platform for a fictional client company: I developed the customer, catalogue, cart, checkout and shipping services in Python, then connected the whole thing together with Docker.
